The program was divided into four phases; each meeting lasted 90 minutes. During the orientation phase, parents were told what information would be given to their children and shown the visual aids to be used; the adolescents viewed a film and participated in discussions. The phase on human sexuality interaction education introduced participants to healthy elements of human sexuality; discussions ranged across every conceivable aspect of sexuality, prompted by specific visual materials used. The third phase focused on relapse prevention; the adolescents learned to identify signals of potential risk for recurrence of their sexually inappropriate behaviors and developed a specific plan of action for dealing with each signal should it appear in their daily life. In the final phase, the adolescents received assistance in their transition to a followup status. Following the treatment, no adolescent reported relapse of the sexual behavior that brought them into the program and none had to utilize their individual relapse prevention plans. 3 tables and 16 references
