How many women are raped each year in the U.S.?
The number of rapes that occur in the U.S. is available in the Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS) electronic publication, Criminal Victimization in the United States: Statistical Tables. The number of rapes reported to the police is available in the annual Crime in the United States report, which is published by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Only rapes of females are counted by the FBI.
