The Syracuse Weed and Seed Community Partnership in New York has developed a video that showcases area youth building a pocket park for senior citizens in the targeted West Side neighborhood. The video was developed as the result of a collaborative partnership with a local high school's Youth Construction Initiative in conjunction with the U.S. Department of Transportation.
Television and Radio Advertisements
The Sister Sentenced television and radio PSAs, developed by the Ad Council for the U.S. Department of Justice's Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN) initiative, were designed to encourage youth to think about the repercussions of committing gun crimes and reminds them that the consequences they suffer just as seriously affect their families. In Sister Sentenced, the sister explains that she was sentenced to 5 years of walking home alone from school on the day that her brother received a 5-year sentence for committing a gun crime. These PSAs are also available in Spanish. Visit the PSN Web site to view and download the ads.
