Annual Mock Prison Riot
The National Institute of Justice (NIJ) and the West Virginia High Technology Consortium Foundation annually host a Mock Prison Riot on the grounds of the former West Virginia Penitentiary in Moundsville. The purpose of the riot is to showcase emerging corrections and law enforcement technologies and to give corrections officers and tactical team members an opportunity to use and evaluate emerging technologies in riot training scenarios.

Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP): Staff Training Centers
This section of the BOP Web site provides information on staff training facilities for the development and training of BOP staff.

Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC)
The FLETC serves as an interagency law enforcement training organization for Federal agencies. FLETC also provides training to state, local, and international law enforcement agencies. Contained on FLECTC's site is a wealth of information about the trainings provided along with a Training Finder.

National Institute of Corrections (NIC): Training
NIC provides management and specialty training for staff of state and local corrections throughout the U.S. and its commonwealths and territories. Trainings are available for juvenile justice, Federal prison system, and military corrections personnel through interagency agreements. NIC also offers live satellite and video opportunities which you may learn about on the Video Learning Opportunities section of the NIC site.

National Institute of Corrections (NIC): Training in Corrections
This section of the NIC library provides a listing of training resources for corrections, including resources specific to correctional officer training.

National Institute of Justice (NIJ): Technology Institute for Corrections
NIJ's annual Technology Institute for Corrections is designed for corrections managers to learn about and discuss technology initiatives and issues affecting the corrections community.
