The focus groups were asked to comment on how seriously drug court participants
regarded the drug court experience and what made some of them succeed.
How seriously do your peers take drug court?
A
common theme in participants responses was the fact that many of
them do not initially take the program seriously, but once they adjust
and begin to understand the process better, they become more committed
to trying to succeed.

What makes a person successful in drug court?
When
asked by the focus group leader to describe what makes a participant successful
in drug court, participants in the different sites seemed to point to
the individuals personal decision to change his or her life.
