Many drug court practitioners, court managers, researchers and management information system experts contributed their time and effort to make this document possible. Their names are included in Appendix B to this report. In the true spirit of collaboration and sharing that is the centerpiece of the drug court movement, these individuals shared their experience and expertise for the benefit of their colleagues. We appreciate their contributions and commend their efforts.
The Justice Management Institute (JMI) convened this meeting on behalf of the Drug Courts Program Office. Our special thanks to Barry Mahoney, President of JMI, who served as the moderator of the focus groups and principal author of the report. Dr. Mahoney was assisted by six individuals who served as reporters during the focus group and drafters of the final report. This additional contribution of time and effort by John Carver, Caroline Cooper, Larry Polansky, Susan Weinstein, Jennifer Dyer Wells and Theresa Westerfield was invaluable to the success of the meetings and to the production of this report.
The focus groups and this report were a joint effort of a dedicated group of drug court practitioners and the Drug Courts Program Office, Office of Justice Programs, U.S. Department of Justice. It is a process that continues to be successful and productive.
