The Office of Homeland Security coordinates national strategy to
secure the United States from terrorist threats or attacks. The
office works with executive departments and agencies, state and
local governments, and private entities to implement a national
strategy to detect, prepare for, prevent, protect against, respond
to, and recover from terrorist threats. The office's web site includes

Domestic Preparedness
The Office for Domestic Preparedness (ODP), a component of the
Office of Justice Programs, U.S. Department of Justice, provides
information, training, and technical assistance to help state and
local governments prepare for and respond to threats or acts of
terrorism involving weapons of mass destruction. ODP offers a
State and Local Domestic Preparedness Support HELPLINE (18003686498).
This nonemergency, toll-free resource provides information on
ODP training and technical assistance programs to state and local
emergency responders across the United States.

Federal Emergency Management
Agency
The Federal Emergency Management Agency provides leadership, training,
readiness and exercise support, and technical and financial assistance
to strengthen citizens, communities, professional emergency workers,
as well as state, local, and tribal governments as they prepare
for disasters, mitigate the effects of disasters, respond to community
needs after a disaster, and launch effective recovery efforts.
