CD–ROM Teaches Youth About
Nation’s Founding Documents

In keeping with President Bush’s initiative to promote and enhance the teaching, study, and understanding of American history and civics, OJJDP, in partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs of America, created America’s History in Writings: A Resource for Young Americans. This CD–ROM contains the text of the nation’s founding documents—including the Declaration of Independence, the Articles of Confederation, and the Constitution—and age-appropriate information about their significance. It provides Spanish translations for many of the documents.

America’s History in Writings will be sent to more than 4,000 Boys & Girls Clubs across the country. Counselors are encouraged to plan activities that will help members learn about America’s history and the rights and responsibilities of citizenship.
