Females were a larger
proportion of juvenile
arrests in early teens
In 2000, girls were involved in one-third
of all arrests of youth ages 13 to 15,
compared with one-quarter of arrests of
younger and older juveniles. This general
pattern is found in some specific offense
categories, whereas others show a decreasing
female proportion of arrests with
age.
