"Stalking Victimization in the United States" (NCJ 224527, 16 pp.) presents findings on nonfatal stalking victimization in the United States, based on the largest data collection of such behavior to date. "Over-the-Air (OTA) Communications Improvements for Police Departments" (NCJ 224791, 2 pp.) describes how police departments can use over-the-air communications to update radio software and change a radio’s features by beaming updates directly to their radios. In recognition of National Stalking Awareness Month (January 2009), OVC will conduct a Web Forum Guest Host Session on January 21 at 2 p.m. ET. Michelle Garcia, Director of the National Center for Victims of Crime Stalking Resource Center, and Cindy Southworth, Founder and Director of Safety Net: The National Safe & Strategic Technology Project, will discuss best practices for addressing technology and stalking. In commemoration of National Human Trafficking Awareness Day, join OVC for a Web Forum Guest Host Session on January 28 at 2 p.m. ET. Katherine Kaufka, Executive Director of the International Organization for Adolescents, and Florrie Burke, consultant on modern-day slavery to government and nongovernment agencies, will discuss best practices for assisting victims of labor trafficking.
