OVC is accepting applications for State Victim Assistance Academy (SVAA) grants to develop SVAAs in states where one does not exist. Up to six first-year awards of $35,000 are available for this 3-year project. | New Victim Impact Curriculum Released |
OVC has launched the Victim Impact: Listen and Learn curriculum. This online resource uses a victim-centered approach to help offenders understand the impact of crime on victims. It contains 13 training units that address crimes such as robbery, assault, homicide, and drunk driving. Downloadable content includes training units, curriculum DVD clips, and a customizable agenda. The 2009 National Crime Victims' Rights Week (NCVRW) Resource Guide is available online. The Fifth National Sexual Assault Response Team Training Conference will be held May 27-29, 2009, in Seattle, Washington.
