| Gang Centers To Merge in October |
| Since 1995, OJJDP's National Youth Gang Center has addressed issues involving juvenile gang members, focusing on prevention and intervention efforts and promoting a comprehensive strategy to combat gangs. On October 1, 2009, the National Youth Gang Center will merge with the National Gang Center, which is currently funded by BJA. (OJJDP)

| September 25, 2009, is the National Day of Remembrance for Murder Victims. With support from OVC, the National Organization of Parents of Murdered Children, Inc., Mothers Against Drunk Driving, and Maryland Crime Victims' Resource Center, Inc., are sponsoring a symposium on September 25 in Washington, DC, to honor victims and their courageous survivors.
