Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) Public Safety Officers' Benefits (PSOB) Program
The PSOB Program provides death and disability benefits to the public safety officers (or eligible survivors in the event of death) who have been killed or permanently and totally disabled by a catastrophic personal injury sustained in the line of duty. The PSOB Program also includes the Public Safety Officers' Educational Assistance (PSOEA) Act, which provides financial assistance for higher education for the spouses and children of federal, state, and local public safety officers who have been permanently disabled or killed in the line of duty.
International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP)
The IACP is the world's oldest and largest nonprofit membership organization of police executives. IACP's leadership consists of the operating chief executives of international, federal, state and local agencies of all sizes and provides information on numerous topics pertaining to law enforcement personnel.
National Sheriffs' Association
The National Sheriffs' Association is a non-profit organization that is involved in numerous programs to enable sheriffs, their deputies, chiefs of police, and others in the field of criminal justice to perform their jobs in the best possible manner and to better serve the people of their city, counties or jurisdictions.
Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS)
The mission of the COPS Office is to advance community policing in jurisdictions of all sizes across the country. COPS provides grants to tribal, state, and local law enforcement agencies to hire and train community policing professionals, acquire and deploy cutting-edge crime-fighting technologies, and develop and test innovative policing strategies.
