Abstract

In March 2018, the Maryland General Assembly passed a wide-ranging school safety package that included the requirement that all public school systems implement behavioral threat assessment teams. The Maryland School Safety Subcabinet created a model policy to provide guidance. This feature article provides online access to the Maryland Model Policy. The feature article on the NCJRS as the provider of publications formerly distributed by the JTIC lists some of the reports that will be provided by NCJRS. The NCJRS email address is provided as the means to obtain any of the reports. This TECHBeat issue's "TECHShorts" section describes the VALOR Officer Safety and Wellness Program's offering of free E-learning opportunities, as well as a community corrections publication that describes the use of technology to address needs and concerns.
