  Annotation: This CD-ROM contains all the Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS) publications that are available electronically and were published before December 31, 2005.
Abstract: The publications contained on the CD-ROM are arranged alphabetically, chronologically, and topically. Abstracts for each publication are presented in HTML format and publications are presented in Portable Document Format (PDF) and/or ASCII. Most of the tables can be accessed in spreadsheet format, however many of the reports contain spreadsheets that are maintained in a zip archive, requiring that they be expanded for viewing. Publication topics included in this CD-ROM are: (1) corrections and criminal offenders; (2) courts and sentencing; (3) crime and victims; (4) criminal justice; (5) criminal record systems; (6) Federal justice system; (7) law enforcement; and (8) prosecution. The title links allow access to a publication’s abstract, which provides further links for various versions of the report or data. Examples of publications included in the CD-ROM are data on school crime from 1991, criminal victimization in the United States from 1993 through 2004, crime and victimization in the three largest metropolitan areas from 1980 through 1998, and 2003 data on violence by gang members. Other publications include information on contract trials and verdicts in large counties, State prison expenditures, and justice expenditures in the United States.
