  Annotation: The U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Juvenile Justice Delinquency Prevention’s (OJJDP's) bimonthly newsletter presents notices of agency activities, recent publications, funding opportunities, and upcoming events.
  Abstract: This issue's lead article reports on the Attorney General's release of a new public service announcement to raise awareness about the problem of children's exposure to violence and about the Justice Department's Defending Childhood initiative. The issue also includes special features on the Department's observance of National Missing Children's Day, the May 2011 meeting of the Coordinating Council on Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, and the OJJDP fact sheet, Highlights of the 2009 National Youth Gang Survey. Also included are links to information to register for the National EUDL Leadership Conference, as well as information on other upcoming events. New publications are offered: Cuando su niño está desaparecido: Una guía de supervivencia familiar (When Your Child Is Missing: A Family Survival Guide); El delito del secuestro familiar: La perspectiva de hijos y padres (The Crime of Family Abduction: A Child's and Parent's Perspective; and Federal Resources on Missing and Exploited Children: A Directory for Law Enforcement and Other Public and Private Agencies (6th ed.) Other news includes articles on the Justice Department awards presented at the National Strategy Conference; the release of The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s (SAMHSA’s) school toolkit for suicide prevention; information on a course offered on law enforcement interactions with adolescent girls; a discussion on OJJDP’s presentation at the Center for Native American Youth's Resource Roundtable; and a Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) podcast on saving drug-endangered children.
