Annotation: This report presents estimates of criminal justice expenditures and employment (JEE) data for 2013 at the national, federal, state, and local levels.
Abstract: Data cover the following areas of criminal justice: police protection; all judicial and legal functions, including prosecution, courts, and public defense; and corrections. Data are from the Census Bureau’s Annual Survey of State and Local Government Finances and the Annual Survey of Public Employment and Payroll. Data tables are accessible in a Zip format, along with a PDF of the user guide. The user guide contains a historical overview of the Justice Expenditures and Employment data series, the survey methodology, definitions of terms and concepts, and comparability issues between the JEE Survey and the JEE Extracts program. 20 tables
