This fact sheet presents a figure and a data table showing the actual and potential fines and the fines collected by the end of December 1985 as a result of the Federal Government's Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force Program.
Abstract
Court records for 1,442 of the 1,663 offenders prosecuted between 1983 and 1985 showed that fines the courts could have imposed at sentencing amounted to more than $57 million. Actual fines imposed amounted to $7.8 million, and approximately $500,000 was collected. Cover letter and description of the task force program.
