Tasks performed by John G. McKenzie in his capacity of criminal justice counsel for the National Association of Attorneys General (NAAG) under a grant to the Governors' Drug Laws Reform and Assistance project are enumerated.
Abstract
Mr. McKenzie was hired to perform a number of technical assistance, liaison, and education and training tasks. He prepared a report on factors governing State drug law reforms and developed guidelines for reform. He served as liaison with the U.S. Department of Justice, the Attorney General's Advocacy Institute, and other Federal agencies and commissions. He also served on committees and working groups concerned with drug law enforcement and reform, such as the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organization Act guidelines. Education and training activities included newsletters and bulletins, reports, and seminars. Of particular note were a case and statute analysis, a compilation of resources listing of attorneys with expertise in drug law, and preparation of a contact list of State's attorneys' general drug enforcement personnel. Appendixes include a number of the reports and a seminar/meeting agenda.
