This 1985 annual report of the U.S. Justice Department provides detailed accounts of the 1985 activities of the department's offices, boards, divisions, and bureaus.
Abstract
The offices encompassed in the report are those of the Attorney General, Deputy Attorney General, and Associate Attorney General, as well as those of the Solicitor General, Legal Counsel, Legislative and Intergovernmental Affairs, Legal Policy, and Professional Responsibility. Division activities encompass the Justice Management Division, the Antitrust Division, Civil Division, Civil Rights Division, Criminal Division, and Land and Natural Resources Division. Services included in departmental activities are the Immigration and Naturalization Service, the Community Relations Service, and the U.S. Marshals Service. Activities of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the U.S. Parole Commission, and the U.S. National Central Bureau of Interpol are also reported. Reports of Justice Assistance Act agencies cover the Office of Justice Programs, the Bureau of Justice Assistance, the Bureau of Justice Statistics, the National Institute of Justice, and the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention.
