Videotaping may be a useful mediator training mechanism for learning by experience. This paper discusses the various aspects of videotape training and the necessary criteria for review.
Abstract
The technique of videotape training solves the problem of learning without disrupting the mediation process. It is still dependent upon the criteria that a reviewer will use when critiquing the session. The author has included videotape/roleplay criteria, used in actual training, which can serve as a postmediation checklist. It is emphasized that process is more important than content in a successful mediation session. 6 references.
