The velocity of ultrasound wave passage through the calf muscles of cadavers was measured.
Abstract
It was found to vary with time since death and with temperature, but the latter effect could be compensated for. A method to estimate the postmortem interval was developed and preliminary results obtained. (Publisher abstract)
