Testimony covers drug abuse issues in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, Rhode Island, Connecticut, and Vermont. The witnesses voice a common concern about the increase in cocaine use in the New England States. Issues discussed include intergovernmental cooperation in drug law enforcement, tougher laws against traffickers, improved police-prosecutorial cooperation, and improved police training. Of particular concern to many witnesses is drug trafficking and drug abuse among junior high and high school students.
