Criminal justice programs are many and varied throughout the United States.
Abstract
The program at East Carolina University differs from most by being joined with the social work program. Many of the required courses for a degree are the same required of individuals who major in social work. This article is a discussion of what knowledge the students receive from the social work courses and how this is beneficial to criminal justice professionals. Results show that some of the basic skills in dealing with people are the same whether in a criminal justice or social work program. (Author abstract)
