Abstract
Overviews present the program's nature and history and the structure of the Alberta and national programs. Guidelines on starting a program explain how to introduce it to the community, obtain the cooperation of the police, and set up the committee to operate the program. Essential supplies are also listed. Procedures to use to obtain continuing support for the program are also given. The responsibilities of the coordinating committee, zone coordinators, area chairpersons, block parents, school personnel, and police are detailed. Screening guidelines and training materials for block parents are presented. Forms, classroom materials, map, materials for reprints of media articles, and guidelines for conducting a fingerprinting program.
