This manual uses simple language and extensive line drawings to help people who are developmentally disabled understand what sexual assault is, how to stop it from happening to them, and what to do if they become victims of sexual assault.
Abstract
Tha manual is written for people who understand best with few words and who need a care provider to read and help explain concepts to them. It explains the difference between good touch and bad touch, presents pictures of body parts that should be private, and defines assault and rape. It gives step-by-step instructions for use if a sexual assault begins or after it has taken place. The guidelines explain how to report a sexual assault, what will happen if the victim goes to a hospital, what happens in court, and what feelings are likely and how to deal with them.
