The 3-day meetings are held quarterly on Tuesdays through Thursdays, with Mondays and Fridays designated as travel days. Overviews of program activities and accomplishments are presented. The meetings facilitate technology transfer, peer contact, and interagency cooperation. Agendas center on current issues facing the sites, and include discussion, review, and feedback. Participants are selected on the basis of issues to be covered and may include various police representatives and representatives from other juvenile-related agencies. Meeting sites are rotated among the cities with SHO/DI demonstration projects, and project directors attend all meetings. The cluster meetings have provided an efficient and cost effective means for information dissemination and addressing generic program problems.
