The concept of community courts is interpreted as an attempt to bring the control functions of the community in conjunction with the courts' support of the legal order.
Abstract
Since sociocultural variables are involved, the interpretation invites the exercise of the comparative method. Two versions of social control -- coercive versus self-regulative -- are presented as a platform for analysis of the significance of community courts. (Publisher abstract)
