This paper contributes to the growing body of literature on older offenders by presenting a profile of those persons under community supervision.
Abstract
This is the single largest group of older convicted offenders, outnumbering prisoners by four to one. The profile includes descriptions of demographic and personal data, criminal history, instant offense and performance on supervision. Parallels are drawn between the processing of women and older offenders in the criminal justice system in a discussion of discrimination, leniency and neglect. (Author abstract)
