A device is being evaluated which images and statistically evaluates typewritten impressions on paper.
Abstract
The device can differentiate between typeface designed and manufactured by one company and typeface copied from the same design but manufactured by a different company. The device can make precise and detailed measurements of typewritten impressions while reducing the effects of the ribbon and paper to provide a valid and reliable image of the individual typewritten characters.
