The first system, ComPHOTOfit, creates a composite from the database and then puts associated case information into a user-defined area that is saved with the image in the database. The second system, Edicon, matches name identification and descriptive characteristics and can print a booking sheet, including a physical description and mug shot. The third system, Instant Image, can be customized to meet an agency's needs and is the only system that has gone through a jury trial as a primary means of identification. Photos are captured by video camera and stored on a video disk in a video player/recorder. The last system, Compusketch, has an interview as part of the program and is designed to reinforce the witness's memory, draw out detail, and avoid leading the witness. 2 illustrations.
