Two of the seminars seek to improve police productivity, increase police services to juveniles, integrate juvenile services into other law enforcement activities, and implement policymaking and management principles. Another training program focuses on the coordination of police-school efforts in delinquency prevention and improved school safety, supervision, and control. An additional program, dealing with investigative techniques for child abuse and exploitation cases, emphasizes proactive policing strategies. It covers such subject areas as case preparation; evidence identification, collection and preservation; and victim and offender interviewing. The programs are held at regional sites and at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Glynco, Ga. While the seminars target various audiences, each is designed to help State and local law enforcement policymakers and community leaders to identify juvenile justice issues and trends and improve their services.
