This special issue covers correctional classification based upon psychological characteristics.
Abstract
The articles presented in this issue deal with offender typologies, classification in corrections dealing with inmates being sorted into management- and program-relevant groups, a review of the origin and development of the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory-Based Criminal Classification System, and the Interpersonal Maturity Level Classification System. Also discussed is the Jesness Inventory Classification System, the Conceptual-Level Matching Model, results of a study examining the validity of five psychological classification systems, and current trends in prison classification systems.
