This article focuses on the medical facts and the legal aspects of the Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) controversy for employers, AIDS victims, and co-workers of AIDS sufferers.
Abstract
As the number of AIDS cases increases, AIDS-related personnel questions are arising more frequently in the public and private sector workforce. Personnel management concerns such as making pre-employment inquiries, testing applicants for the AIDS virus, terminating those afflicted with AIDS, dealing with co-worker concerns, and the impact of AIDS on employee medical benefits are covered. 15 references.
