Each student has an individual educational program with objectives derived from specific needs. Classes are from 8:45 a.m. to 11:15 a.m., lunch from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., physical education activities from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m., and the afternoon academic sessions from 1:15 to 3:45 p.m. Currently, three teachers teach 23 students. The teachers participated in a 2-week orientation that focused on the law pertaining to young offenders and safety and security regulations. A timetable of classes has been developed to make the best use of the instruction, the three teachers' individual strengths, and the three classrooms, on both a group and individual basis. Among recommendations for improving the program are that one teacher be given the added responsibility to prepare the budget and do the recordkeeping as well as coordinate the work of the three teachers. A long-term building plan must be developed to ensure the provision of adequate classroom facilities. The classroom schedule is included.
