This study compared return rates of 162 women who had satisfactorily completed the Parkside, N.Y. correctional facility work release program in 1984 and 1985 with those for 36 unsatisfactory program participants who had been transferred to other facilities during this time.
Abstract
The return rate for satisfactory participants was 9.2 percent, as compared to 31 percent for unsatisfactory participants. Further, this return rate was considerably lower than the projected return rate of 17.2 percent based on the overall return rate for female offenders.
