The first study indicates that among boys, although there was a wide variation in the degree to which particular types of offenses were committed alone or in the company of others, there was no general offense category that was predominantly solitary. There were no identified juveniles who always offended alone. The second study compared adolescent boys and girls and found that the girls were more likely than the boys to commit offenses in the company of others. The findings are discussed in terms of their implications for the role of the group context in delinquency. 5 tables and 37 references. (Author abstract modified)
