There are volunteer opportunities within the superior court, the office of adult probation, and the family services division. Volunteer services in the superior court assist the states attorney, the public defender, the clerk, and the bail commissioner. Volunteer assistance for the office of adult probation pertains to probation officer court duties, help for the administrative staff, assistance in the development of presentence reports, and working in a one-to-one relationship with selected probationers. Volunteer services for the family services division encompass recreational or tutorial services for juveniles, one-to-one relationships, assistance for the court advocate in the review and investigation of delinquency cases, work as an advocate for children in placement, and help in monitoring clients in community service programs. Volunteers also help the family services division through assistance at court intake and at mediation sessions.
