This report describes major legislative initiatives in South Carolina to cope with alcohol and drug abuse problems.
Abstract
A short synopsis is provided of 89 alcohol and drug related bills introduced during the 1987 legislative session. Activities of State agencies involved in alcohol and drug programs are described. Special focus is given to the Earl E. Morris Jr., Alcohol and Drug Addiction Treatment Center. Summary reports are included on the Department of Program Development and Training Management, the Young Adult Program, the Chaplaincy, the Psychology Department, the Social Work Department, the Aftercare Service, the Activity Therapy Service, Nursing Services, the Medical Service Department, the Vocational Rehabilitation Service, administration, Personnel Service, and the Registar Division. Supply and Services, Word Processing, the Involuntary Treatment Program, the SCVR Alcohol Rehabilitation Centers, and Vocational Rehabilitation Department are also reviewed.
