This set of New Jersey Title 2C model criminal jury charges includes all the model charges available as of June 1983.
Abstract
The included charges were prepared or revised and adopted by the Supreme Court Committee on Model Jury Charges, Criminal, but have not been reviewed nor approved by the New Jersey Supreme Court. The charges are guides only, since they are not designed for universal application. The first sets of model charges pertain to general principles of liability, general principles of justification, criminal responsibility, and inchoate crimes. These charges are followed by those which address the offenses involving danger to the person, including criminal homicide offenses; offenses related to assault, reckless endangering, and threats; kidnapping and related offenses; sexual offenses; and robbery. Jury charges for offenses against property encompass arson, criminal mischief, and other property destruction; burglary and other criminal intrusion; theft and related offenses; and forgery and fraudulent practices. The model charges also cover offenses against public administration and offenses against public order, health, and decency.
