This compendium of materials focusing on legal issues related to AIDS was compiled for use in a July 1988 seminar conducted by two California judges.
Abstract
The materials include a 10-item test focusing on legal and medical issues related to AIDS, four newspaper articles concerning AIDS and family law cases, the United States Surgeon General's Report on AIDS, and a directory of videotapes about AIDS. Additional materials include an article by physicians discussing AIDS prevention, a detailed list of local AIDS resources, and a copy of a public information brochure from the Surgeon General. Further materials include the policies and procedures of the Los Angeles Department of Health Services with respect to children and adolescents infected with the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), the San Francisco Procedure for HIV screening of high-risk children in foster care, and an outline of the Butte County (Calif.) Health Department AIDS education program directed to certain adults referred by the courts.
