The report discusses the nature and extent of the drug problem in Texas and indicates that the drug trafficking problem in Texas continues to expand. Specifically, the report cites national statistics which show that 58 percent of high school seniors used illicit drugs in 1986. Statistics also indicate that 15-to 24-year-olds are the only age group with an increased death rate from drug-related accidents, suicides, and overdoses in the past 10 years.
