This document presents excerpts from the regulations of protective service agencies in 10 States regarding the reporting and procedures to be used in the event of the deaths suspected of being the result of child abuse.
Abstract
The regulations are from Connecticut, Hawaii, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, New York, Oklahoma, South Carolina, and Texas. They explain to whom reports are to be made, the required response to a report, agreements with the coroner's office, the timetable and deadlines for each action, procedures to be used if other children are in the home, procedures to be used if the child is in foster or other substitute care, and the different procedures for handling reports from different sources.
