Abstract
Each chapter parallels those in the text and covers basic concepts and methods in criminology, theories of crime causation, major crime categories, and the criminal justice system and its components. Chapters feature a 45-question test bank containing multiple choice, true/false, and short answer essay questions. A chapter glossary defines key terms to be used as lecture supplements or to be reproduced for students. A summary of key issues in each chapter is provided, together with learning objectives. A listing of topics for classroom discussion also is provided. Chapters cover crime and criminology, criminal law and its processes; crime measurement; victim and offender characteristics; and classical, neoclassical, biological, psychological, and sociological theories of crime causation. Others examine violent, street, white-collar, organized and public-order crime. Final chapters consider the policies and procedures of the criminal justice system and the police, courts, and correctional systems. See NCJ-114438 for textbook.
