Standards are specified for each of three phases of supervision which cover the period from probation start date to the third month of supervision, the fourth to ninth month, and the tenth to twelfth month. The contact standards for Phase I require a minimum of five face-to-face contacts with a probationer extended over four different dates during each 7-day period. Minimum contact standards require two curfew checks in each 7 days. The need for a probationer to maintain existing employment or gain employment is a key to successful completion of probation supervision. During Phase I, criminal record checks may be done in any number of methods. Surveillance capability is increased by enlisting the assistance of law enforcement personnel in each jurisdiction. Phases II and III progressively reduce the stringency of the standards and the intensity of the supervision.
