The 1983 Legislature created the Utah Commission on Criminal and Juvenile Justice UCA 62-25 (See Appendix A). The Commission is comprised of 17 key criminal justice leaders (see inside front cover) throughout the State. Its eight member staff also provides the criminal justice staffmg for the Governor's Office. The Commission is charged to ensure broad philosophical . agreement concerning the objectives of the criminal and juvenile justice system in Utah and to provide a mechanism for coordinating the functions of the various branches and levels of government concerned with criminal justice.
