Abstract
There are an estimated 2,000 skinheads in the United States. They shave their heads, dress in black Nazi stormtrooper boots, wear Nazi tattoos and say they hate blacks, Jews, Asians, Hispanics, and homosexuals. Members of the Skinheads have been arrested for murder, robbery, assault, and vandalism. In 1987 and 1988 skinheads committed many cruel and senseless crimes against blacks, homeless people, and Hispanics. Older white supremacist leaders praise the Skinheads' acts of terrorism and encourage their brutal activities. Many Skinheads are insecure adolescents who seek self esteem and approval from their peers.
