These eight newsletters and a brochure were published in 1987 and 1988 and examine legislative developments, court cases, and other developments related to the Ku Klux Klan, the white supremacist movement, and hate crimes in the United States.
Abstract
Individual articles describe the Hate Crimes Statistics Act passed by the House of Representatives in 1988, the unsuccessful prosecution of white supremacists for seditious conspiracy and conspiracy to murder, and a lawsuit related to police infiltration of the California Ku Klux Klan. Other articles discuss the level of hate violence, the activity of neo-Nazi youth gangs, the efforts of the Aryan Nations, views that a Jewish conspiracy has caused the economic problems of rural areas, and the perspectives of victims of racist violence. Further articles detail the efforts of the Center for Democratic Renewal to combat hate crimes.
