The Juvenile Justice Alliance has played a tremendous role in the provision of services to the youth of Oregon.
Abstract
Its major contribution has been to demonstrate how a public/private partnership can be created to the benefit of all involved. Such alliances between established, traditional youth-serving organizations and public agencies have been highly successful in reaching out to disadvantaged, at-risk youth and providing an opportunity for them to gain confidence and valuable skills. The community as a whole also benefits from the community-oriented programs that have been developed.
