This participant's or instructor's manual is designed to teach the critical elements of the case management model, Treatment Alternatives to Street Crime (TASC) which has been identified as a certified program eligible for block grant funding under the Justice Assistance Act of 1984 and the Anti-Drug Abuse Act of 1986.
Abstract
Nine instructional modules take the participant from an introductory level (with a pre-test) through criminal justice and drug abuse jargon, history of the TASC concept, implementation and administrative problems and solutions, client identification and screening, and case management. Forms for needs and psychosocial assessment, information about recordkeeping, and instructions on urinalysis testing are included and case histories are summarized. Relevant elements of the criminal justice system are introduced throughout. The issue of confidentiality is addressed with pertinent portions of the Federal Register reproduced.
